India is a vast country with widely diverse language and culture. The marking system of our educational program is as wide-ranging as our language and culture. It is some time unfair to rank the students, based only on their marks, particularly when they are coming from different states and on top of that with various educational systems. At the same time it is too much of a tasking to the students to appear for different examination for admission into the same program. Due to this in the year 2015, most NITs having two year M.Sc. program and some CFTIs came up with the idea of Centralized Counseling in the name of CCMN (Centralized Counseling for M. Sc./M. Sc(Tech) admissions to NITs and CFTIs) to admit eligible candidates.

Admission to M. Sc/M. Sc(Tech) Programme by CCMN started in the year 2015 with the participation of 13 NITs and 02 CFTIs and was organized by National Institute of Technology Rourkela. Down the year, CCMN 2016 took its shape in the present form with developments and optimization in manifolds. CCMN 2016 had an increase of 02 more institutes from NITs and the total Participating Institutes (PIs) were 17 which include 15 NITs and 02 CFTIs. NIT Calicut & MNNIT Allahabad was the new welcome.

CCMN 2015 & CCMN 2016 were unique in its nature, where the entire process of admission was done through online counseling. As a result, the candidate can complete the entire process of admission online and report to the admitting institute only at the time of start of fresh session. Unlike CCMN 2015, candidates who participated in CCMN 2016 had no trouble of travelling to the nearest PI for Surrender which was even made Online with OTP confirmation.

Upon decision by all Directors of NITs & CFTIs, Counseling for admission to M. Sc/M. Sc(Tech) programme by CCMN is organized for the 3rd time by National Institute of Technology Rourkela with participation from 16 NITs and 02 CFTIs. We believe with this procedure, it will make the admission process to M. Sc/M. Sc(Tech) progarammes of NITs and CFTIs completely hassle free to the students.

CCMN 2017 is glad to announce about the participation of 18 institutes (16 NITs and 2 CFTIs) for online counseling and admission to M.Sc/M. Sc(Tech) programmes and the list of participating Institutes (PI) is as follows:

The CCMN 2017 PIs’ committee approved of the following common counselling procedure viz. CCMN 2017 runs through a process of 3 normal rounds of allotment to fill the available seats.

“All candidates wishing to take admission at NITs/CFTIs for any M. Sc/M. Sc (Tech) programmes should go through the Centralized Counselling procedure followed by CCMN 2017, organized by National Institute of Technology, Rourkela only.”

It is to be noted here that, the applications and admissions for IISc/IITs does not have any bearing and link to the application and admission process for NITs and CFTIs by CCMN 2017.

Online application process for CCMN 2017 will commence from 04th May 2017.

Unlike the previous years, CCMN 2017 does not conduct any type of Spot Round. However, an Institute level Spot Round may be conducted by respective institutes at their discretion with the left over seats after the completion of CCMN 2017.

At this juncture CCMN 2017, take this opportunity to thank all participating institutes for their participation in CCMN counseling and agreeing to a common eligibility criterion for admission. CCMN 2017 hope in future more institutes will extend their participation in CCMN

CCMN 2017 wishes all JAM aspirants for an enthusiastic career!
