India is a vast country with widely diverse language and culture. The marking system of our educational program is as wide-ranging as our language and culture.
It is some time unfair to rank the students, based only on their marks, particularly when they are coming from different states and on top of that with
various educational systems. At the same time it is too much of a tasking to the students to appear for different examination for admission into the same program.
Due to this in the year 2015, most NITs having two year M.Sc. program and some CFTIs came up with the idea of Centralized Counseling in the name of
CCMN (Centralized Counseling for M.Sc./M. Sc(Tech) admissions to NITs and CFTIs) to admit eligible candidates.
Admission to M.Sc/M. Sc(Tech) Programme by CCMN started in the year 2015 with the participation of 13 NITs and 02 CFTIs and was organized by
National Institute of Technology Rourkela. CCMN 2015 was unique in its nature, where the entire process of admission was done through online counseling.
As a result, the candidate can complete the entire process of admission online and report to the admitting institute only at the time of start of fresh session.
The only time the candidates were required to travel to the nearest participating institute, if due to some reason they wished to surrender the seat.
Counseling for admission to M.Sc/M. Sc(Tech) programme by CCMN is again going to be organized by National Institute of Technology Rourkela with
participation from 15 NITs and 02 CFTIs. CCMN 2016 has evolved from 2015 and included the online surrender procedure in addition to its already existing online
procedure for admission with the help of robust technology. We believe with this procedure, it will make the admission process to M.Sc/M. Sc(Tech) progarammes
of NITs and CFTIs completely hassle free to the students.
CCMN 2016 is glad to announce about the participation of 17 institutes (15 NITs and 2 CFTIs) for online counseling and admission to M.Sc/M. Sc(Tech)
programmes and the list of participating Institutes (PI) is as follows:

“All candidates wishing to take admission at NITs/CFTIs for any M. Sc/M. Sc (Tech) programmes should go through the Centralized Counselling procedure
followed by CCMN 2016, organized by National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.”
It is to be noted here that, the applications and admissions for IISc/IITs does not have any bearing and link to the
application and admission process for NITs and CFTIs by CCMN 2016.
Online application process for CCMN 2016 will commence from 18th April 2016.
In addition to qualified JAM candidates, CCMN 2016 also supports candidates (those who have valid JAM 2016 score but disqualified due to minimum qualifying
marks or those who have failed to clear the JAM 2016 or have not appeared for JAM 2016) through Institute Spot Admission (ISA).
Institute Spot Admission will commence after all rounds of CCMN 2016 (including the NSR) is over. ISA is a medium to prepare a list of candidates by CCMN 2016
for ISA participating institutes. However, the institute is solely authorized to decide on its participation in ISA.
(Detailed information about ISA is available in a separate tab inside the website)
At this juncture CCMN 2016, take this opportunity to thank all the participating institute for their participation in CCMN
counseling and agreeing to a common eligibility criteria for admission. CCMN 2016 hope in future more institutes will extend their
participation in CCMN
CCMN 2016 wishes all JAM aspirants for an exciting career!
